FAQ

How many classes are in Drill to Earth's Core?
There are 26 unlockable classes as of 21 September 2026. The roster grew from eight launch classes in March 2026 to 26 by September, with a new class unlocking roughly every one to two weeks — Samurai is the newest, added on 18 September 2026.
What is the cheapest class in Drill to Earth's Core?
Miner costs 100 Cores and is the only cheap unlock. Everything else is a savings project: the next tier starts at 3,000 Cores (Scout, Healer), then 5,000, 10,000 and finally 30,000 for Goblin King, Bounty Hunter, Pirate and Executioner.
How do you get classes in Drill to Earth's Core?
You buy them with Cores in the lobby Academy. Cores are earned from achievements, daily quests, chests and breaking boss walls — not from promo codes, because this game has none. See our Cores guide for the full earning list.
What is a Level 4 team bonus?
Every class has four levels. Levels 1 to 3 upgrade your own kit, while Level 4 is always a team bonus that helps all 30 players in the server. Level 4 unlocks gate on career total depth — the meters you have ever travelled, not the depth of your current run.
Which class should I buy first?
Miner, for 100 Cores. It is the cheapest unlock and its pickaxe bonus funds everything else. After that, Driller at 5,000 Cores is the usual second buy because it raises drill power, which is what actually moves your run forward.

How classes work

Classes are lobby purchases, not in-run upgrades. You spend Cores in the Academy to unlock a role, then equip it before you descend. Each class hands you starter gear, a passive that scales over four levels, and a team bonus at the end.

That split matters when you are deciding what to buy. Levels 1 to 3 are personal — they make your job easier. Level 4 is always a team bonus, so it helps all 30 players on the server, and it unlocks on career total depth rather than anything you do in one run. Career depth is every meter you have ever travelled, so a 100 km clear adds 100,000 m toward the gate even if you die at the core.

You can also roll passives from classes you already own onto another class for 2,500 Cores, which is how experienced players stack bonuses from roles they do not want to main.

Full class list and Core costs

The 26 classes below are taken from the game’s own unlock badges, which is why the release dates are exact — the developers create a badge the moment a class ships. Core prices are cross-checked against the in-game Academy.

We leave the last ten prices blank on purpose. The Academy has not confirmed them, and a made-up number is worse than an empty cell — it sends you grinding toward a figure that does not exist. Prices get filled in as they are verified.

What changed in Season 1

Season 1 is the live heading on the game, tagged on the Roblox page during the week of 3–8 September 2026. Two badges were created minutes apart on 3 September: Prospector (Unlock the Prospector class) and Shopkeeper, which confirms both the class and the lobby kiosk are real.

The class cadence is worth noting if you are planning a build. The developers shipped eight classes in March, one in April, one in May, two in June, five in July, four in August and two so far in September. A class you are saving for may be superseded before you afford it, so prioritise roles that fix a problem you actually have — usually drill power or survival, not raw combat damage.

Which class to buy first

Miner at 100 Cores is the only cheap door, and it pays for itself because ore income funds everything else. If you have not read it yet, start with our beginner guide to get your first hour right.

After Miner, the honest answer depends on why your runs are failing:

  • You run out of drill power → Driller (5,000 Cores), which also discounts drill upgrades. Pair it with the drill upgrades guide so your Coins go into the right cards.
  • Your team dies in dungeon rooms → Reaper (10,000 Cores) or Tank (5,000 Cores). Our Reaper guide covers the soul orb loop in detail.
  • You are poor, not weak → Lucky Looter (10,000 Cores) is the main economy buy, and earning Cores is the fastest fix.
