FAQ

How much does the Gunslinger class cost?
Gunslinger costs 5,000 Cores, the same band as Driller, Tank, Mechanic and Bruiser. Its Level 4 team bonus gates at 5,000,000 m of career total depth.
What starting gear does Gunslinger give you?
A Revolver and Gunslinger Armor. The Revolver is a real weapon rather than a starter placeholder, so the class is usable from the first run.
How do I unlock Gunslinger Level 2 and 3?
Level 2 requires defeating 1,000 enemies with guns and dealing 1,000 damage with one shot. Level 3 requires landing 3,000 headshots and dealing 3,000 damage with one shot. The single-shot numbers need upgraded weapons, not just patience.
What is the Gunslinger Level 3 perk?
Guns fire 100% faster — double the rate of fire. Combined with the headshot bonus from Level 2, it is the largest single damage jump any combat class gets, which is why Gunslinger outranks the other damage classes.
Is Gunslinger better than Bruiser?
For damage, yes. Gunslinger's Level 3 doubles fire rate and its Level 2 rewards headshots, while Bruiser only gets a per-hit melee bonus. Gunslinger also keeps you at range, which matters when a Watcher deals instant-kill damage at close quarters.

What Gunslinger actually does

Gunslinger costs 5,000 Cores and it is the ranged damage class. You start each run with a Revolver and Gunslinger Armor — a real weapon, not a starter placeholder, so the class is useful immediately.

Its three levels stack in a way the melee classes do not: a flat bonus, then a skill-based multiplier, then a raw rate-of-fire doubling. That last one is why Gunslinger sits above the other damage classes in our tier list.

Level by level

Level Unlock What changes
1 5,000 Cores +50% Gun Damage
2 Defeat 1,000 enemies with guns, deal 1,000 damage in one shot Headshots give +50% Gun Damage
3 Land 3,000 headshots, deal 3,000 damage in one shot Guns fire +100% faster
4 5,000,000 m career total depth Team bonus: +25% Gun Damage for the whole server

Fire rate doubling is the payoff

Level 3 doubles how fast your guns fire. That is not a percentage bonus on top of a percentage bonus — it is twice as many shots in the same window, and every one of them carries the Level 1 and Level 2 multipliers.

The maths compounds. A gun doing +50% base damage, with headshots adding another +50%, fired twice as often, is roughly a 4.5x throughput increase over a stock weapon. No other class in the game gets a single upgrade that large.

The cost is the requirement: 3,000 headshots. That is a real skill gate, and it is why Gunslinger takes longer to finish than Bruiser even though both cost 5,000 Cores.

Headshots make it a precision class

Level 2 rewards aiming: headshots give +50% gun damage. Stacked on the Level 1 bonus, a headshot from a levelled Gunslinger does more than double the damage of a body shot from a stock gun.

That has a practical consequence in deeper layers. From the Crystal Layer down, the enemy list adds Bats at 27 speed and Fuel Leeches at 53 speed — the fastest enemies in the game, and both hard to hit. Gunslinger’s fire rate helps, but the class rewards players who can actually track a moving target.

It also keeps you at range, which matters against the Watcher. The Watcher deals instant-kill damage at 25 speed and cannot be killed with normal weapons — the enemies guide lists which enemies ignore standard damage.

Hitting the requirements

  • Level 2: 1,000 gun kills, 1,000 damage in one shot
  • Level 3: 3,000 headshots, 3,000 damage in one shot
  • Level 4: 5,000,000 m of career total depth

The single-shot damage numbers gate on weapon quality. Better guns come from structures — Vampire Mansion drops Golden Keys that open gear chests, and Goblin Champion drops a full equipment set. The structures and dungeons guide maps where each spawns.

Where Gunslinger fits

Gunslinger is a damage class, and damage is the least scarce resource in a 30-player server. That does not make it bad — it makes it a later purchase. Buy it once your team has Driller for the wall and something for survival, then enjoy having the highest personal DPS on the run.

If you are still choosing your first 5,000-Core class, the best classes tier list explains the priority order, and how to get Cores covers how to afford it faster.
