FAQ

How much does the Tank class cost?
Tank costs 5,000 Cores, the same price band as Driller, Gunslinger, Mechanic and Bruiser. Its Level 4 team bonus gates at 5,000,000 m of career total depth.
What does the Taunt Banner do?
The Taunt Banner is Tank's Level 2 unlock and it starts each run in your inventory. Deploying it attracts nearby enemies to you instead of your teammates, which is what keeps loot classes and miners alive inside dungeon rooms.
How do I unlock Tank Level 2?
Level 2 requires tanking 10,000 damage and wearing a full Diamond Armor set. The armor requirement is the real gate — you need to have found and equipped all four Diamond pieces before the class levels up.
What armor do I need for Tank Level 3?
Tank Level 3 requires tanking 25,000 damage and wearing a full Void Armor set. Void Armor is a deeper-game set than Diamond, so Level 3 is a long-term project rather than something you rush in a weekend.
Is Tank better than Reaper for survival?
They solve different problems. Reaper heals itself and nearby teammates from kills, so it sustains a party over a long descent. Tank redirects incoming damage away from your squishier players, which matters more in enclosed dungeon rooms where enemies bunch up around the cart.

What Tank actually does

Tank costs 5,000 Cores and answers a specific question: why does your team keep dying in rooms?

A 30-player server rarely wipes because it lacks health. It wipes because enemies reach the players who were mining or hauling loot, and those players go down before anyone reacts. Tank changes that by making itself the target.

If your wipes are “we starved the drill” rather than “we died in the door”, Driller is the right 5,000 Cores instead. The best classes tier list frames the whole trade-off.

Level by level

Level Unlock What changes
1 5,000 Cores +100 Health
2 Tank 10,000 damage, wear full Diamond Armor set Start with a Taunt Banner that attracts enemies to you
3 Tank 25,000 damage, wear full Void Armor set +250 Health
4 5,000,000 m career total depth Team bonus: +50 Health for the whole server

You also start with Tank Armor and a Rusty Chest, so the class is functional from the moment you buy it.

The Taunt Banner is the point

Level 1’s +100 Health is modest — it is roughly one hit from a Mole Man at 30 damage, or two from a Goblin Champion at 80. The class becomes worth its price at Level 2, when you start each run with a Taunt Banner.

The banner pulls nearby enemies onto you. In open ground that is a minor convenience. In a dungeon hallway, a goblin arena or a spider tunnel — places where enemies crowd the cart and your loot players cannot back away — it is the difference between a clean run and a wipe.

That is why Tank ranks above raw-damage classes in our tier list: it protects the players doing the work, rather than adding a fourth damage source to a team that already has thirty.

The armor gates are the real cost

Both upgrades require armor sets, not just damage taken:

  • Level 2 needs a full Diamond Armor set
  • Level 3 needs a full Void Armor set

Those requirements are why Tank takes longer to level than its numbers suggest. Tanking 10,000 damage happens naturally; assembling four matching Diamond pieces means finding them in structures and dungeons first. Void Armor is a deeper-game set, so Level 3 is a long-term project — the armor tiers guide lists every set and where the pieces come from.

The one mercy is that armor pieces come from the content you are already running — Goblin Champion drops a helmet, chest and legs set, and Vampire drops golden keys that open the chests holding gear.

Where Tank fits

Tank is a dungeon-room class. It shines in the structures list — Vampire Mansion, Spider Dungeons, Goblin’s Arena and the three Dungeon levels — where enemies arrive in groups rather than one at a time. The structures and dungeons guide maps where each of those spawns by layer.

Pair it with Reaper if you want both damage redirection and healing, or read how to reach 100 KM for the run plan where the Taunt Banner earns its place. If you are saving the 5,000 Cores, how to get Cores covers the fastest sources.
